Hi everyone! As I am writing this, we are smack-dab in the middle of a huge snow storm. Now, this is not anything new, living in a suburb of Chicago, but this one is supposed to drop a lot of snow — 20 inches — by Saturday. I ran into the grocery store this morning and it was seriously Armageddon. There were two carts left in the vestibule and the check-out lines were at least 10 deep each. I wanted to yell: Hey! Relax people! It’s only snow!
Back to the important stuff! Today I am sharing some pictures from two “in-progress” junk journals — although I see no junk in them. These journals are documenting both of my kids’ school years and I have to say that this type of “scrapbooking” is so totally awesome. I think this is true-to-its-form scrapbooking. In some circles, it’s called junk journals, but to me, it’s a very authentic way to record memories.
In each of these, I keep papers, notes, documents, awards, tickets, playbills, and all sorts of stuff from the year. I think it will be so totally awesome to look back on this and as an older kid or even as an adult. I am loving this process!
In the meantime, here are some more pictures:
Hopefully, this will inspire you to start documenting in a more meaningful way. I wish I started this years ago. But: Here’s to the future.
Till next time,
